Dental implant posts will last close to a lifetime. However, the teeth that attach to the post(s) have to be replaced periodically and they are not cheap. My husband wants to get implants to replace his upper teeth. His upper teeth have to come out so its either implants or a denture. He has implants on the bottom and the teeth on those implants need to be replaced. To do both the upper and lower, it will cost over $50,000.00. That does not include the cost of the implants. Insurance does not pay for this. The prosthodontist wants all the money in 18 months. Who has that kind of money? Certainly not the average working person.
